Company Building Out Capacity For Holidays
Due to the challenges of COVID-19, Amazon has announced changes and additions in preparation for the upcoming holiday season.
- To improve product storage capacity, Amazon is scheduled to open a total of 33 new fulfillment warehouses in the U.S. by the end of the year. These new centers will increase peak storage capacity by 35 million cubic feet more than 2019.
- More than 175,000 employees have been hired to help meet customer demand and they’ve invested in COVID-19 initiatives to help protect the health of employees who pick, pack and ship products.
- Amazon claims to have reduced their retail product orders in order to accommodate more sellers’ products.
Amazon is building out capacity and making these improvements to ensure top service to selling partners and customers during the holidays.
