Understanding the Deadlines Associated with the Transition from Google Product Search to Google Shopping
Whereas Google has provided hard deadlines for certain aspects of the Google Shopping transition, it is important to remember that aspects of the changeover may be seen immediately. Free readership could be effected in the month of June as Google experiments with search engine results page layouts and displays of current Google Product Listing Ads. The hard deadlines are listed below.
May 31st, 2012
Google announces changes in Google Shopping and the elimination of the free Google Product Search program. Along with this announcement, Google begins testing a new layout for offers and shopping results in search.
June 30th, 2012
Users will begin seeing a single area of products in their search results, combining free and commercial listings.
July 1st, 2012
August 15th, 2012
Deadline for existing Google Product Search merchants to sign up to receive $100 AdWords credit for Product Listing Ads. Simply fill out this form to begin the process.
Deadline for merchants to create Product Listing Ads in order to receive 10% monthly credit of total Product Listing Ad spend in 2012
