Improve Consumer Confidence with Google Trusted Stores

Alongside the major changes coming to their shopping platform, Google is putting a big emphasis on user experience and consumer confidence. In addition to an improved layout in Google Shopping and on search engine results pages, Google is encouraging merchants to participate in their Trusted Stores program.

The Google Trusted Stores program helps shoppers guarantee the quality of their shopping experience by identifying retailers to excell. Merchants who choose to participate in the program will be evaluated and graded based on the quality of their customer service, ease of solving problems, and timeliness and speed of shipping . Google will also offer free purchase protection to shoppers who purchase from a Google Trusted Store and opt-in to participate in the program. This gives consumers the opportunity to recover up to $1,000 in price, tax, and shipping costs should a transaction go awry and without resolution directly through the merchant.

Retailers participating in the program will be assigned a Google Trusted Store badge to use on their website. This icon may also be visible in search results and Product Listing Ads. Google recommends that merchants apply to participate in this program by August 15th as a part of preparations for the launch of the new Google Shopping.
